Details: Onyx has been in use for thousands of years in jewelry and sculpture and Roman warriors carried amulets of onyx, believing it to bring courage in battle. The graceful swirls in this cabochon are mesmerizing and even if you're not a believer in the metaphysical properties of stone, these stones have an effect on most people simply due to their natural elegance. We set the stone in a fine silver bezel and mounted it on 20 gauge sterling silver. Select 3mm black leather cord or a substantial 4mm rolo chain. Fastens with a large (18mm) sterling silver lobster clasp. The pendant is an inch and a half long, including the bail. The stone measures 23mm x 18mm. We are silversmiths and setting beautiful stones is our passion. The pendant is hallmarked sterling and stamped with the silversmith's name. This necklace was not mass produced and thus will have natural irregularities that can be seen in the photos. A stone that is set by hand will have a natural, crafted character.
