 - Moss agate is a colourless, translucent Dendritic Agate variety of Chalcedony with inclusions of green hornblende (or chlorite) in moss-like patterns (therefore the name). Moss agate, although primarily green, can also show brown and red patterns due to the oxidation of the iron in the hornblende/chlorite.
 - Moss Agate compromises with sets of mineral inclusions that are comparable with trees, plants, and landscapes. In some instances, the inclusions hold back by chalcedony allows the mineral clusters to cultivate in the silica gel. Technically, on the basis of crystal formation and composition, moss agate is not a true agate. Its moss green, fibrous and streak-like spots are sometimes complemented with red spots, which does not occur on some of its specimens.
